Steps to make Matoke crisps:
  1. Peel chop and wash your bananas
  2. Let them sit in salty water for about 5 minutes. Drain and pat them dry
  3. In a medium high heated oil, dip the sliced bananas and let them cook till they float
  4. Remove and place in an underlined container
  5. Serve

Matoke is a banana variety that is indigenous to Uganda. They are shorter than regular bananas and are somewhat thicker at the mid section as a result. Matoke (or Matooke) refer to the plantain or plantain banana in Uganda, where plantains are a staple crop.

Not just that, nuts, specifically, are a terrific source of protein.

Cold water fish are great for eating if you want to beat back depression. Cold water fish like tuna, trout and wild salmon are high in DHA and omega-3 fats. These are two substances that promote the quality and function of the gray matter in your brain. It’s true: consuming a tuna fish sandwich can earnestly elevate your mood.

Some grains are actually wonderful for fighting off bad moods. Quinoa, millet, teff and barley are all really great for helping raise your happiness levels. They help you feel full too which can actually help to improve your mood. Feeling starved can really make you feel awful! These grains can help your mood elevate as it’s not at all hard for your body to digest them. These foods are easier to digest than others which helps jumpstart a rise in your sugar levels which in turn kicks up your mood to a happier place.

Green tea is excellent for moods. You knew green tea had to be in this article somewhere, right? Green tea is loaded with a certain amino acid referred to as L-theanine. Research has proved that this amino acid stimulates the production of brain waves. This will improve your brain’s concentration while simultaneously relaxing the rest of your body. You likely already knew it is not difficult to get healthy when you drink green tea. Now you know that green tea can elevate your mood too!

Now you realize that junk food isn’t necessarily what you need to eat when you are wanting to help your moods get better. Try some of these tips instead.
